Things to understand and prepare before a baby/kids photo session

Updated: Dec 31, 2019

We are doing natural light outdoor photography session.

To get the best results we need to take photos when the lighting is good.

The ideal light we get for a shoot is usually between 4.00 pm and 5.30 pm. Before 4.00 pm, there will be harsh sunlight. If we take pictures after 5.30 pm, we won't get good quality as I have to increase ISO a lot and it will create grains.

Updated note: On December, January and February, I am opening only mini sessions as we have limited ideal lighting time.

Before the session starts please make sure that kids are well fed and slept. Please bring along water, milk, snacks, wipes, comb etc. If baby/child has black/red threads, jewelries, bindi etc and if you really want them in the output, keep it. Else please remove it at you home and come. Otherwise it will take a lot of time during post processing to remove them, sometimes, it won't be possible also. The expressions and emotions of the kids pop up better when there are less distracting elements in the shot.

I will be giving pose planning after we discuss on setups and outfits.

ie, Pose 1/Set up1: Outfit 1

Pose 2/Set up 2: Outfit 2 etc

Following the plan ensures that we can get the best shots quickly. Sometimes kids are cranky or will not smile. We can use some of the buffer time to handle these situations. The photoshoot will get started quickly if you arrive with the baby in the dress planned for the first setup.

Taking videos and photographs using your mobile while the shoot is going on will disrupt the process. So kindly avoid that.

Please except some traffic and start from home accordingly. If you are more than 30 minutes late we have to cancel the session and there won't be any refund.
